AND IF YOU'RE IN LOVE THEN YOU ARE THE LUCKY ONE CAUSE MOST OF US ARE BITTER OVER
SOMEONE SETTING FIRE TO OUR INSIDES FOR FUN TO DISTRACT
It was planned to be a busy Saturday. However, Saturday mornings were always hers. Chelle was someone that, despite having lived in New York permanently for two years, and on and off her entire life, still wanted to spend her time doing nothing but walking around the city. It felt like it was alive, with people everywhere and things to see everywhere, and it just felt like a huge adventure to her. Maybe that was because she was short, young, and had no huge responsibilities hanging on her. Chelle wasn't someone that thought about any of that, if only because she was a look-to-the-future type of girl. She didn't think about the past because there was too much left there that she couldn't change. She only thought about moving forward, and being the best person that she could be. She thought about Lucy more than she should - Lucy, her sister that was somewhere in this state, hopefully, the sister that she was spending money on PI's to find - because she knew that she could find her. She knew that Lucy was somewhere, and that meant that she could be found. She didn't know why her sister had left, what had been the tipping point in her cutting ties, but she knew that she had to find her and make things right. She didn't have her mother, and technically she didn't have her father. She needed her.
But that was something to think about on a rainy day, something to cry mascara tears over while watching Lifetime movies on channel sixty-six while eating chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream from her two true loves, Ben and Jerry. She didn't talk about it with anyone because she couldn't explain, they wouldn't understand. She knew her boyfriend would think her silly, a silly little girl pining over her long lost sister that would never return to her, but she didn't think like that. She couldn't. She forced the thoughts from her mind, tossing her hair over her shoulder as she walked through Central Park. Even though she'd always lived in cities, and had never once lived in a house with a backyard, she still loved nature. She'd gone camping once, with a few friends, and even though she'd found it highly traumatizing when it got down to the harder parts, she really loved being surrounded by nature. That, though, didn't exactly work when she lived in a concrete jungle. She loved Central Park, though. That burst of fresh air that she got from being around trees, just from the whole atmosphere, was refreshing in a way that she couldn't find anywhere else in the city.
It was pretty quiet, since it was still pretty early, and she knew that the park would soon be full of cute couples going on romantic walks together, little children in the playground playing, families with hot dogs and giant pretzels and ice cream cones walking around spending time together. It was a happy and sad sight at the same time. It made her think to her father, sitting in his stuffy office in Paris, not picking up her calls. But she didn't want to think about that either. She was going bowling with friends later, which explained her attire. Usually, Chelle was the kind of girl that was hyper-aware of her fashion. Even now, she looked good, but it wasn't as well done as she usually was. She could be found in mini dresses, shorts, anything that was form fitting and with the latest trends, and she always, always wore heels. However, she was in a pair of sneakers and a pair of camo jeans, with a cute top to match. She had her sunglasses up and holding back her hair, which looked extra orange today for some reason - probably the sun - and she just overall looked more cute than I work at Vogue. It was when she pulled out her phone to check to see if she had any messages that she passed by a bench with a girl sitting on it. It was only out of the corner of her eye that she saw the pair of boots she was wearing - they were adorable. Chelle thought that people wearing boots in the summer was quirky, but since she had a pair or three of ankle boots that she wore in the summer herself, she didn't judge. "Excuse me, I'm so sorry to bother you, but your boots are adorable. Where did you get them?" She asked, smiling lightly.
