- - Likes: summer evenings, the zoo, reading, knowing the right answer, big sweaters, heights, being in charge, furry animals
- - Dislikes: her nickname (it makes her sound like some old lady's poodle), being cold, being patronized, coffee without copious amounts of milk and sugar, making mistakes
- - Goals: graduate college (hopefully summa cum laude), become youngest editor in the company's history, find love, get a pet (in case finding love doesn't work out)
- - Fears: failure, loneliness, rejection
- - Habits: twists her hair when nervous, rubs her arms when she feels awkward
- - Personality:Felicity's looks suggest adorable and innocent, but in reality, she's extremely sarcastic and often rude. She gives insults more than compliments, even if she means them in an affectionate way. She is prone to snap judgments that are rarely accurate. All her life, parents and teachers have praised her intelligence and good grades, which has given her a bit of a superiority complex. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't make friends easily. At her heart, Felicity is a romantic searching for that perfect love story. The problem is, the world of flirting and dating scares her; she doesn't have all the answers there. At her job, Felicity is fiercely competitive, determined to work her way up to editor as quickly as possible. Part of her wants to be successful, and the other part just wants to be in charge.

- - History:As a child, Felicity lived a charmed life. She grew up in the suburbs of Cincinnati never experiencing suffering or sacrifice. She had good grades, got along well with her parents and siblings, and her biggest disappointment in life was the pony Santa never brought. Felicity excelled in school and relished the way adults fawned over her precocious ways. As a middle child, she saw her grades as the only way to really get her parents attention, but even then she had to compete with her equally academic brother. It wasn't until middle school that she realized not everyone enjoyed it when she showed off her intelligence; namely, her classmates. Kids teased her for her eagerness to answer questions in class. Popular girls would extend friendship to her only to revoke it when the test was over or the report finished. Her parents, seeking to help, told her the other kids were simply jealous. Felicity took this to heart and began to look down on anyone who didn't appreciate her intellect. Over the next few years, she became increasingly condescending toward her classmates. People began to avoid her because of her callus personality, she layered on sarcasm like a shield against the feeling of rejection.
Despite all this, Felicity managed to find a few close friends. When she decided to become an editor, thus choosing a New York City college to be closer to the major publishing companies, it meant leaving them behind. The casual acquaintances her two years in college have yielded, coupled with her distance from home, have made Felicity feel isolated from the world. She has attempted to find a softer, friendlier side of herself, but finds it hard to shake her existing point of view. Currently, she's facing her first summer in New York, living in her new apartment while working a paid internship at a publishing company.

- - Roleplay Sample:Even from six stories up, the city looked crowded and busy. Even some of the noise reached her, the muffled roar of engines and car horns mixing with the office sounds of clicking keys and squeaky chairs.
"Felicity? Felicity!"
Felicity Hayes spun away from the window to see a middle-aged women with platinum blonde hair giving her a stern glare. "We're not paying you to take in the view." The women--Rebecca, if Felicity remembered correctly--shoved a stack of papers into Felicity's arms. "I need four copies of this," Rebecca said as she walked away, leaving Felicity fumbling to keep all the papers contained. Once they were stable, she allowed herself a dark glare at the back of Rebecca's head.
"We're not paying you to take in the view," she parroted under her breath. As if Rebecca had any real authority besides making Felicity do menial tasks. If that woman wanted people to take her seriously, she should start by not dying her hair a color meant for women twenty years younger than her.
Still fuming, Felicity made her way to the copier. As she pressed the buttons harder than necessary, she allowed herself to daydream about some future day when she could sit in her own office and be the one issuing commands. Smiling to herself, she picked up the first few copies, only to have her smile fall as she realized they were all blank. Cheeks burning, she lifted the scanner lid to flip over the paper inside.* * * *
The sidewalks were crowded and the streets clogged as Felicity made her way home from work along with, it seemed, every other person in the city. Coming from the suburbs, Felicity was still unused to the crowds of New York. However, she had quickly learned to just put her head down and keep moving. Usually she took the subway, but today she felt restless and decided to walk the whole way.
Glancing up as she moved around some slow tourists, Felicity realized she was standing in front of a pet store. Puppies played in one window, kittens in the other. They draw you in with the cute ones, she thought, but stopped to look anyway. She smiled as a tiny Beagle tried to climb over a larger puppy of some other breed. They were cute, but hard to keep in an apartment, she reminded herself. In the next window, a few of the kittens were pay fighting. Cats could practically take care of themselves, but she would still have to bring it with her during visits home or find someone to check in on it. The thought made her frown as she realized she didn't really know anyone well enough to ask them to take care of a pet. Tearing herself away, Felicity walked away quickly, trying to think of other things.
She arrived home later than usual, but felt good from the exercise of walking. As she entered her apartment, silence pressed against her. Even the noise from the street seemed far away. With a sigh, sounding loud in the quiet, Felicity prepared for another evening by herself.
